{"id":9267,"date":"2026-09-03T10:13:07","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T10:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/techmarbles.com\/products\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=9267"},"modified":"2026-09-03T10:17:35","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T10:17:35","slug":"inventory-settings-9267","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/techmarbles.com\/products\/docs\/odoo-integration\/inventory-settings-9267\/","title":{"rendered":"Product Settings"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Controls how products synchronize between Odoo and Shopify, including direction, creation\/update modes, field updates, filtering, pricelists, and manual actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The page has two tabs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Product Settings<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 all configuration options and manual sync actions (described below).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Product Sync Status<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(new)<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 a per-product sync view (described at the end of this section).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Product Sync Direction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Choose the active direction (only one at a time; switching shows a confirmation):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Odoo \u2192 Shopify<\/strong>\u00a0(default)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shopify \u2192 Odoo<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Product limits &amp; recommendations (first-time creation only):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Odoo \u2192 Shopify:<\/strong>\u00a0up to ~20,000 products. Use\u00a0<strong>category<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>tag<\/strong>\u00a0sync to break large catalogs into batches. To avoid API rate-limit errors, you\u00a0<strong>must<\/strong>\u00a0use category-wise or tag-wise sync rather than syncing everything at once.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shopify \u2192 Odoo:<\/strong>\u00a0simple products up to ~10,000; multi-variant products (10\u201320 variants) up to ~500. Large catalogs export in the\u00a0<strong>background<\/strong>\u00a0with automatic rate limiting \u2014 you can leave the page and use\u00a0<strong>Retry failed<\/strong>\u00a0if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;Bundle\/Kit products cannot currently be synced automatically between Shopify and Odoo through the app.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creation &amp; Update Mode<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Available for&nbsp;<strong>both<\/strong>&nbsp;directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Create new and update existing products<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 create missing products and update existing ones.\u00a0<em>(Create+Update for Shopify \u2192 Odoo is newly available.)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Update existing products only<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 never create, only update matches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sync Behavior \u2014 Odoo \u2192 Shopify<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Auto-publish newly synced products<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 newly created products are published and available to customers (otherwise they remain unpublished).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sync only products which have stock available on Odoo<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 skip products without stock.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Create Odoo Product Category as Shopify Collections<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(new)<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 automatically create Shopify collections from Odoo categories and organize products into them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Map Products to Shopify Locations<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 map products to Shopify locations (new products only; later changes must be done in Shopify).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Set products in draft state on import<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(new)<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 create new products in\u00a0<strong>draft<\/strong>\u00a0state instead of active.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Add fixed tax rate (%) on top of synced prices<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(new)<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 add a configured tax percentage on top of the Odoo sale price before it is sent to Shopify (applies to both price and compare-at price). Example: with 5%, an Odoo price of 100 syncs to Shopify as 105. Use this when your Odoo prices are tax-exclusive but your Shopify store displays tax-inclusive prices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Minimum sale price floor<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 products priced below this threshold are not synced\/updated (blank or 0 = no limit).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sync Behavior \u2014 Shopify \u2192 Odoo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Map to Odoo Product Category<\/strong><em>(new)<\/em>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>None<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 no category mapping (default Odoo category).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shopify Product Type \u2192 Odoo Product Category<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 create categories from product types.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shopify Collections \u2192 Odoo Product Category<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(new)<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 create categories from collections (if a product has multiple collections, the\u00a0<strong>first<\/strong>\u00a0is used).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Invoicing Policy in Odoo<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0<strong>Ordered quantities<\/strong>\u00a0(standard) or\u00a0<strong>Delivered quantities<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sync Draft Products<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(new)<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 also sync Shopify draft products to Odoo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enable Product Vendor Mapping<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(new)<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 sync Shopify product vendors to Odoo (new products only).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Minimum sale price floor<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 as above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inventory Tracking Flag&nbsp;<em>(new)<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During product sync (both directions), the app now keeps the inventory-tracking flag aligned by default: Odoo&#8217;s&nbsp;<strong>Track Inventory<\/strong>&nbsp;setting maps to Shopify&#8217;s&nbsp;<strong>Track quantity<\/strong>&nbsp;on the variant. The mapping is version-aware \u2014 on Odoo \u2264 17.2 it uses the product type (Storable vs. Consumable), on Odoo 18+ it uses the&nbsp;<em>Track Inventory<\/em>&nbsp;(<code>is_storable<\/code>) checkbox. Untracked products no longer end up tracked (or vice versa) after a sync.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sync Translated Product Content&nbsp;<em>(new)<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enable&nbsp;<strong>Sync translated product content<\/strong>&nbsp;to read product titles, descriptions, and tags from Odoo in a selected&nbsp;<strong>Odoo language<\/strong>&nbsp;(Odoo translations) instead of the default English source value. Enable this when you edit product names in a non-English Odoo interface, then pick the language from the dropdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Auto Product Sync<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enable&nbsp;<strong>Auto Product Sync<\/strong>&nbsp;to automatically sync products once daily in the selected direction. The daily sync covers SKU, Barcode, Price, Title, Description, Tags, and Cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Product Field Updates (existing products)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When auto sync is on, enable&nbsp;<strong>Update\/Export fields for existing products<\/strong>&nbsp;to selectively update these fields on products that already exist (applies to daily auto sync and manual import\/export). Select at least one:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Price<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Title<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Description<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Tags<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Cost<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During product&nbsp;<strong>creation<\/strong>, all relevant fields are synced automatically. Field updates only control which attributes are refreshed on&nbsp;<strong>existing<\/strong>&nbsp;products.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Category \/ Collection Filter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Odoo \u2192 Shopify:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Sync Product By Category<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 pick specific Odoo categories (none selected = all).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shopify \u2192 Odoo:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Sync Shopify Product By Collection<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 pick specific Shopify collections (none selected = all).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Category pickers now show the&nbsp;<strong>full hierarchy path<\/strong>&nbsp;for each category (e.g. &#8220;Parent \/ Child \/ Subchild&#8221;) and include both Odoo&nbsp;<strong>product categories<\/strong>&nbsp;(marked &#8220;(General)&#8221;) and&nbsp;<strong>eCommerce\/website categories<\/strong>&nbsp;(marked &#8220;(Website)&#8221;), so similarly named categories are easy to tell apart. Only categories belonging to the company selected in Configuration are listed. Use&nbsp;<strong>Refresh<\/strong>&nbsp;to reload the category\/collection list after changes in either system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tags Filter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Odoo \u2192 Shopify:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Sync Product Tags<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 pick specific Odoo tags (none = all).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shopify \u2192 Odoo:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Sync Shopify Product Tags<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 pick specific Shopify tags (none = all).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pricelist Sync (Odoo \u2192 Shopify)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enable&nbsp;<strong>Sync Odoo Pricelist<\/strong>&nbsp;to price products from a specific Odoo price list (disable to use the default sale price). Price sync applies at product, variant, and category levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Target Odoo Pricelist (Shopify \u2192 Odoo)&nbsp;<em>(new)<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the Shopify \u2192 Odoo direction, enable&nbsp;<strong>Target Odoo Pricelist<\/strong>&nbsp;and select a pricelist: synced Shopify prices are then&nbsp;<strong>written into that Odoo pricelist<\/strong>&nbsp;for every product \u2014 simple and multi-variant, on every Odoo version. Prices on the product record itself keep syncing exactly as before; leave the option off and nothing changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Map Pricelist with Shopify Market Catalog&nbsp;<em>(new)<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inside Pricelist Sync, enable&nbsp;<strong>Map Price list with Shopify Market Catalog<\/strong>&nbsp;to pair Odoo price lists with&nbsp;<strong>Shopify Market Catalogs<\/strong>. Add one or more rows, each mapping an&nbsp;<strong>Odoo price list \u2192 Shopify market catalog<\/strong>. Use&nbsp;<strong>Refresh market catalogs<\/strong>&nbsp;to reload the catalog list. Each row must be complete, and at least one complete mapping is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Manual Actions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Available as buttons on the Product tab:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sync Prices<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 sync prices only (in the selected direction) for already-mapped products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Import Products \/ Export Products<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 run a full product sync in the selected direction. Category\/tag\/collection filters still apply.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Import Images \/ Export Images<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 sync product images. Choose\u00a0<strong>Default Images Only<\/strong>\u00a0(primary image per product) or\u00a0<strong>All Images<\/strong>\u00a0(all images \u2014 may create duplicates if not cleaned up first).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Date-Range Filter for Manual Syncs&nbsp;<em>(new)<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every manual sync confirmation now offers a scope choice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>All<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 sync everything (the default, and the historical behavior).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Date range<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 sync only records whose\u00a0<strong>last-updated date<\/strong>\u00a0falls between the dates you pick. Presets are available (Today, Yesterday, Last 7\/30\/90 days), and dates cover full days in your own time zone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This lets you re-sync just the products (or prices\/images) you recently changed instead of the whole catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sync Progress &amp; Control&nbsp;<em>(new)<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a manual sync starts (product, price, image, or inventory), a&nbsp;<strong>live progress bar<\/strong>&nbsp;appears under the tab bar showing status (Starting \/ In progress \/ Completed \/ Failed), counts processed, failed, and skipped \u2014 with a&nbsp;<strong>Stop<\/strong>&nbsp;button to abort the run and&nbsp;<strong>Dismiss<\/strong>&nbsp;once finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Export Progress &amp; Control (Shopify \u2192 Odoo)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During a background export, a banner shows progress (&#8220;X of Y (Z%). Failed: A. Skipped: B.&#8221;) with an estimated time remaining. When finished with issues you can&nbsp;<strong>Retry failed<\/strong>, or&nbsp;<strong>Cancel export &amp; reset<\/strong>&nbsp;while it is running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Product Sync Status Tab&nbsp;<em>(new)<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second tab on the Product Settings page lists your products (Odoo products when syncing Odoo \u2192 Shopify, Shopify products when syncing Shopify \u2192 Odoo) with their live mapping status:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Columns:<\/strong>\u00a0image, product title (with variant count), product ID, SKU \/ Barcode \/ Variant ID (per your matching mode), and\u00a0<strong>Sync Status<\/strong>\u00a0(Synced \/ Not Synced).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Filter &amp; search:<\/strong>\u00a0tabs for\u00a0<strong>All \/ Synced \/ Not Synced<\/strong>, free-text search, and sorting by title, created, or updated date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Per-product sync:<\/strong>\u00a0click\u00a0<strong>Sync<\/strong>\u00a0on a row to sync just that product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bulk sync:<\/strong>\u00a0select multiple products and click\u00a0<strong>Sync Selected Products<\/strong>\u00a0to sync them as a batch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use this view to verify which products are mapped, and to push individual or selected products without running a full import\/export.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Controls how products synchronize between Odoo and Shopify, including direction, creation\/update modes, field updates, filtering, pricelists, and manual actions.
